A Winter Staycation in Coastal Maine

A Winter Staycation in Coastal Maine

Winter in Maine has a way of inviting rest, especially once the holiday rush has passed. A staycation this time of year feels intentional rather than indulgent, and Coastal Maine offers a few places that truly shine in the quieter months.

The Cliff House in Cape Neddick is one of my favorite winter escapes. The ocean views are dramatic and grounding, and the spa is wonderful this time of year. Warm treatments, quiet spaces, and floor-to-ceiling water views make it easy to unplug and reset.

Closer to home, The Lincoln Hotel in Biddeford offers a different but equally satisfying experience. The building has been beautifully reimagined, and the energy feels creative and relaxed. Having Batson River downstairs makes dinner effortless, and wandering back upstairs afterward feels like one of those small luxuries that make a staycation work.

A winter staycation doesn’t need an itinerary. Sometimes it’s just about slowing down, changing your surroundings, and letting the season do its thing.
